Women in the Church
The women in the church can offer their special gifts and talents to the Lord through His church. Each individual woman may make a unique contribution to the life of the church, and together the women may expand the evangelistic outreach of the church through their prayers and gifts; they may minister to the church family and the community by compassionate service; and they may strengthen the life of the church by their example, prayers, and teaching. Therefore, the women have gathered together in a definite organization in the local church that they may work effectively to further the kingdom of Christ.
To carry out their functions, the Women in the Church (WIC) is run by a women's council with administrative offices: president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, historian, Christian growth chairman, Mission to North America chairman, Mission to the World chairman, mercy ministries chairman, and hospitality/fellowship chairman. As other work is added, other committees may be elected or appointed to do this work.
